Fourth of July in the Mountains
This year we spent Fourth of July weekend with a LOT of my family in Red River, New Mexico. It was a wonderful holiday filled with family celebration, cool(er) weather, sun and rain (the good kind)! Brody is a mountain man at heart. He could spend endless hours throwing rocks into the river and filling his pockets with all kinds of messy treasures.

when I grow up...(part 2)
Brody's list of potential future vocations is growing! These were taken in our driveway yesterday. Brody told me that when he grows up he would like to be a construction worker and build us a new driveway.

Here is a little more detail about his last career path!

School's out for the summer!
Yesterday Brody had his last day of preschool. His first year was so much fun for all of us. He LOVED going to school. We are going to miss his first teacher, Mrs. Miriam and all the wonderful friends he made this year. It was such a delight to hear him tell stories about what he and his friends did that day and he really learned so much.

Welcome Graham!
Brody has a new cousin! Graham arrived safely and healthy on Thursday and we have loved seeing him. Brody has been very excited about his first "boy" cousin. He's ready to teach him all about dinosaurs, trains, rockets and robots.
Check out all the details on Hayley's blog!

Thanks so much, Dale, for taking these adorable pictures!

Easter 2011
Easter this year has been so fun. Since Brody is three, he is beginning to to try and understand what the holiday is really all about. He knows it is about Jesus, and his version goes something like this...some bad guys killed Jesus and then put him in a cave behind a big rock. Then God brought Jesus back to life because he loves Jesus and loves us.
Not bad, right?
This year we celebrated with LoLo & Pop, Aunt Hayley & Uncle Casey, Clare, Syd, and Jane. AND Graham is just about here! The cousins loved their Easter Egg hunt and continued to hide and find the eggs all morning.

Oh, and Brody wants everyone to know that bunnies don't lay eggs.
Happy Easter everyone!

Snow daze...
Remember when snow days were fun??? After our fourth straight day of ice and snow...no school...no playdates...no going outside or running off steam, THIS is how we all felt about yet another "snow day!"

At least Brody and Daddy were able to spend part of the afternoon making a snow friend! For a Texan, Daddy builds a GREAT snowman!

Mamma and Memphis (TX)
This weekend we went to visit Brody's great-grandmother, Mamma in Memphis, Texas. Memphis is a small farming town in the panhandle. Right now the cotton is being harvested. We had a wonderful weekend with great weather, lots of special activities that we don't do in the city, and the best time with Mamma!

we never knew cotton looked like this!

Finally Fall!
The temperatures have finally started to come down around here, so like everyone else, we've been spending a lot of time outside! Here are a few recent pictures of our time back in the fresh air.
